1. Who is John Garang de Mabior?

John Garang de Mabior, the first VP of Sudan as well a government army officer, who spent 20 years fighting for southern Sudan. In addition, John has done things to help African Americans. He was the type of person that like helping people of other ethnicity. John was an awsome person, John in fact tries his best to help Africa and its people.

2. Who are the Dinka people of Sudan?

The Dinka people of Sudan make up the largest single national grouping in Southern area of Sudan. They were also associated with John; John had been trying to help there people. Also the Dinka people were very religious.

3. What is the SPLM/A?

The SPLM/A were Sudan People's Liberation Movement/Army. In 1983 the political organization and army of Sudanese rebels had been formed .Then, these people fought one of Africa's longest continuous wars between the Christian and animist South and the Muslim.

4. Describe the incidents, events, and developments of the genocide in Sudan?

In some cases there were alot of people being
killed. Majority of the people who were deceased did not have anything to do with the war; It was just that lived in Sudan. This war just made the poor situation worst.

5. Pan-Afrikanism is the unity of different Afrikan people and different Afrikan nations. How would this type of unity benefit Sudan?


Pan-Africanism can help spread out cultures of nations, throughout a lagre group of suprisingly similar people. Pen-Africanisn is a great way for Afrikan people to unite.

1. What events led to the outbreak of war in the DR Congo?

An event that led up to the war was the genocide in Rwanda. One reason why is because the Conga was right on the border of Rwanda. Therefore this led to some of the survivors that had managed to get in Conga. Another Occurance that led to the war were taht some young boys were being forced into the army. Not just boys but men too.

2. How many have died in this war? Over what time frame has the deaths taken place? What countries and ethnic groups are involved?

There were alot of people deceased in this war. There were well over a million people were killed in these wars. Two of the ethnic groups that were in situation were the Hutu the Tutsi.

3. What do you think can happen to stop the war/genocide in Congo?

I Believe that the U.S. should have help fix the problem. They could have made a difference as far as the situation.

Rwanda Genocide

1.What factors led to the genocide for one was the death of the Rwandan president.

This occurance has happened on April 6,1994. The president's plane had been shot down which caused it to crash in the act of killing the president; but most of the killing had been done by the hutus.

2.The genocide had a major effect on the population.

During the period of the genocide there were around 800,000 killed people. Which U believed to be pretty amazing, while acknowledging that it lasted fro about 100 days.

3. The major effect of the genocide had left with several diffrent desiases. As well as some people, like mothers and children were left with a hand cutoff.
